STOPP is committed to improving the retail environment across San Joaquin County (SJC), especially in underserved communities. Therefore, STOPP collaborates with the local CalFresh Healthy Living Program’s Refresh San Joaquin (Refresh) Project. Refresh builds partnerships with local retailers to increase the purchase and intake of fruits and vegetables, while reducing unhealthy store advertising and products, such as tobacco.

With new laws and ordinances on the sale of tobacco and nicotine, it may be hard to follow them as a retailer. To assist retailers in San Joaquin to ensure compliance with state and local laws. This one pager, "Stockton's Tobacco Retailers Questions and Answers", hopes to answers some of the common questions and further contact if more assistance is needed. The Coalition for Tobacco-Free San Joaquin also created an educational packet, "Retail Education Packet", for local retailers to better understand and assist with them with complying with local and statewide tobacco control laws. We can also visit retailers by request to provide further assistance.
