The Injury Prevention Program addresses both intentional and unintentional injury from birth to old age.
As the lead agency in the Safe Kids San Joaquin County coalition, Public Health Services Injury Program coordinates activities and trainings around safe sleep, medication safety, pedestrian and bicycle safety, drowning prevention, and child passenger safety. Older adult pedestrian safety is promoted through workshops and community walkability audits.
The Injury Prevention Program also supports interagency efforts to reduce violence in the community.
